In this beginning quilting class we will be making the Tumbling Triangles quilt pattern. 

Class Goals:
1.Learn to cut fabric
2.Learn to read a pattern
3.Threads used in quilting.
4.Marking your fabric to identify it.
5.¼” seams – The importance of being accurate
6.Essential tools used in quilting
7.Learn some quilting lingo
8.Pressing vs Ironing – the when to’s and why’s
9.Learn how to square a block
10.Learn the difference between borders and sashing
11.The quilt sandwich. Preparing your quilt top for quilting
12.Binding – A basic understanding of how to bind your quilt

Please purchase the fabric before the class. 3 yards is needed.  

You'll need to bring to class:

Rotary cutter, quilting ruler 6 1/2 x 24" or similar, disappearing ink fabric pens, straight pins, seam ripper, scissors or snips, and sewing clips. 

We have the new Babylock machines on loan from Jackman's fabrics to use in class.  There are now 2 ways to register, one is if you are bringing your machine, the other is if you will be using our machine.  It gives us a better idea to be prepared.  Of course you are always welcome to bring your own.
